Jimmy Galvin is first generation of Irish immigrants living and working in Bristol he is an autodidact artist/composer and curator and recently curated the show YOKO ONO/INTERVENTIONS/2 in collaboration with Bristol museum where the show ran for 3 months. He cites his main influences as Samuel Beckett, Francis Bacon, Rothko, Erik Satie, Marcel Duchamp, John Coltrane,Yukio Mishima, Jimi Hendrix, Visconti, Joris-Karl Huysmans/ Michelangeglo Antonioni, Igor Stravinsky ,Frank Sinatra, Glen Gould,Bach and Ludwig Wittgenstein. His practice covers 3 mediums that of abstract paintings, conceptual works and as a composer/ pianist.
