Zoey Chang is a Taiwanese artist based in London, her material of choice includes oil painting and digital animation. Her works explore the condition of pictures on the net, through them she interprets human conditions in the post digital era. By integrating the checker background that usually indicate transparency and absence, she emphasizes the lack of acknowledgement of linear timeline and location that serves as one of the key factors that separates images online to images offline.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork   

Having experienced childhood from two locations with opposing political point of views, Zoey has experienced many conflicts relating to politics even in elementary school. One way to escape from reality for her was to catch grasshoppers in the field, a shared memory between the two places, the location of the field hence doesn’t matter for a very short amount of time. 

Please do not bid on artwork in our Art on a Postcard auctions if you intend on selling the artwork after you have purchased it. This auction has been organised for charity and all artworks have been generously donated by the artists to raise money for the Hepatitis C Trust. When the work produced for the charity is sold on the secondary market it damages our relationship with the artist and prevents us from fundraising.
