Notes
Rachel Adams delights in the ability of her chosen material, paper, to transform from two dimensionality to three dimensions.
Her sculptures are made from paper draped over wooden armatures to create large sculptural forms in bleached-out, faded pastel tones. Art critic and writer Ben Street describes her work as, "occupying the space of the human body... suggesting a physical absence, something drained of life, yet crackling with potential energy."
Rachel graduated with a Fine Art (MA) from the University of Edinburgh before completing her MFA from Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford. This work was previously exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery Paper exhibition in 2013. Forthcoming exhibitions for Rachel Adams include one at the Design Exhibition Scotland, Edinburgh.
