About the artwork
"Lyric SV is a systematic variation of the original Lyric geometry, using a new process led idea to create a more liquid treatment, that breaks up the linework with a far more painterly style of abstraction, hopefully without losing too much of the original rhythm that flows through the piece.
The blue edition takes its palette from Hokusai’s wave of course, whilst the orange piece is altogether wilder and more subconscious. There’s an inevitable reference to the amazing electronic music of Tangerine Dream too, synthesised music that seems as extraordinary today as it did when I first stumbled across it back in the eighties.
I love the idea of using the digital systems to remix and reinvent pieces, in much the same way that a contemporary musician might remix a track for a particular band. It’s an idea that I’m going to explore further over the coming years..."
About the artist
In 1984, Chuck Elliot fell in love with digital art, inspired by the first Apple computer in the UK. Chuck's formal education introduced him to the Quantel Paintbox, and after a 4-year course, he embraced a career in digital artworking.
In 1995, Chuck founded Flux in London, creating complex images for clients like Prada and Nike. In 2005, he moved to Bristol to explore digital systems' full potential, focusing on immersive abstract and color space art.
His recent work centers on light, line, color, and form, realized in photographic pieces on plexiglass. The Experimental Print Club, launched in 2016, allows art enthusiasts to collect Chuck's work affordably.
