Studio Sale | Andrew Hardy
17 JANUARY 2022 - 10 FEBRUARY 2022Notes
One of a series of black and white works on plywood, canvas and linen made in 2019, inspired by American minimalist painters of the 1960s and 1970s.
Andrew says of his work, "I try to make paintings that draw viewers in, to question and enjoy their materiality. I don’t feel a need to paint scenes, situations or likenesses of people. I don’t feel any urge to depict things or tell stories or make statements. The works don't usually have any meaning although I do aim for them to be meaningful… which is a different thing.”
