Marco Walker is a very accomplished photographer, whose oeuvre ranges from glamorous fashion shoots in LA, to capturing the beauty of brutalist sculptures in Ukraine (as seen in the two other dramatic images in the auction Lot 6 and Lot 31). 

 "The extraordinary contrast of the statues and their natural environments they are set against is what first interested me,” Marco says about the two larger works being sold. "The Spomeniks, a word for a monument in Slovenian, maintain their grandeur and otherworldly energy, but the tension is altered with alternative print processing methods that soften the generally quite harsh, brutalist shapes giving them a more painterly, ethereal quality. These print processes also give these statues a dated feel which is important - Yesterday’s Future!”
