Notes

About

Ingrid Berthon-Moine is a French visual artist based in London. Her work primarily uses sculpture, painting and installation. She uses the human body as a playground to toy with identity, sexuality and consumerism as a way to examine the de/construction of gender identity and its behavioural consequences in our society. The body is seen as a sensitive receptor which bears the visual traces of our emotional turmoil and is also a source of information and power not to be neglected. Humour is also brought into play and acts as a connector. She also runs the online project @lackitlikeit on Instagram where she interviews womxn on their notion of lack(s).

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

'Untitled'. The anamorphic shapes, reminiscent of body parts host a penile shape made of the negative space surrounding them. It allows a playful interpretation of the collage, male or female, in or out, up or down?
