50 x £50, 2022
02 NOVEMBER 2022 - 24 NOVEMBER 2022Notes
Siobhan McLaughlin is an artist and freelance curator based in Glasgow. She graduated from Edinburgh University with first-class MA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2019 and has since been awarded the inaugural SSA Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Award at the Royal Scottish Academy, a film commission from the Tate's British Art Network and the VAS Cornwall Exchange Residency, Anchor Studios Newlyn. Her drawing, painting and outdoor-installation practice prioritises slow looking and care over high-tech processes. Combining personal experiences of landscape with compositional devices, such as sewing alternative materials, McLaughlin creates abstract-landscape paintings that process ideas of place, memory, connection and vulnerability.
