Layla Andrews has a strong distinctive style of painting. As a self taught artist when she was younger she would trawl car boot sales, markets and looked to her family and public figures for inspiration. Now, based in Brixton, she creates vivid scenes using a cast of human and animal characters. “I love experimenting with faces and filling out the abstract parts. Colour has always been important to my family. I often see a colour out and about and I can see immediately where it’ll fit into a painting.” - Layla Andrews in Harpers Bazaar
