Notes
"Blue Pine is painting of a pine that I’m obsessed with since it was damaged in a storm 8 years ago. I’ve painted it hundreds of times as it’s so wonderfully sculptural and shows of the huge skies out to the Atlantic. I love the many metaphors you can apply to it’s stoic resilience, defiant yet adapting to whatever the weather fronts subject it to.
The skies, footpaths, trees and seas I see again and again day after day. These are the motifs I repeat, rework, destroy and process. The manipulation of paint and the subtle surprises achieved through many cycles of putting on and taking off is what facilitates my surreal recreation of a place. Half remembered, half imagined, familiar and sublime.” - Kerry Harding, 2021
A work of this size by Kerry Harding would usually sell for £850.
